Success.
Success breeds discipline.
For each of us the word success means something different. Gaining followers. Making money. Achieving goals. Hitting a new PR at the gym.
What is success?
To win or to achieve something.
Celebrating big success is more popular because we don’t think someone wants to hear about our PR in the gym or that new time you ran in a 5km race. The value of small successes are often discounted.
Success regardless of size and scale builds confidence. You see a result you repeat the action.
Success leads to confidence. Confidence leads to repetition. Repetition builds habits. Habits practised long enough turns into disciplined actions.
What is your success?
Even in the same field and the same space success often means different things to each individual.
Do you enjoy other peoples’ success?
Are you happy when your friends, colleagues or community members achieve success?
It is important to celebrate the success of others in your circle. It uplifts and empowers someone to keep doing what they are doing.
Be happy for the person that got the job or your friend that attained a goal. Be genuine in your happiness because this will strengthen the bonds between you.
Is success only financial?
Modern metrics are finacially orientated. And everything else we achieve are compared to this.
Big salary - Success.
Flashy car - Success.
Big house - Success.
If that is your metric that is great. But its not the only metric. And you shouldn’t strive for only money.
Friendships are wealth. Community is wealth. Inner peace is wealth. Time & health is wealth.
In closing
Success takes on many forms. Strive to attain what you deem as success. Share your results and embrace the results of other people.
