Edition Sixty Eight
Prime VS Prime.
Sunday afternoon.
The photo project I turned my focus to over the course of 2025 is now the primary source of most of my photos. Once I arrive home and weather permits I tend to head out and start taking photos. Before I figured out how to work the XE-2 when it comes to long exposure photography, the Canon with a 50mm was my work horse for these images.
I would occasionally switch to the kit lens or a 24mm but 80% of the time 50mm did the job magnificently.
Last week I had an idea around the 50mm and 35mm lens. Take photos of the apartments but try to spread them out between these two lenses. It turned out interesting and the experimentation gave rise to some more ideas around this project moving forward.
With this said, enjoy the photos : )
50mm photos.
35mm photos.
Bonus image
While looking through the images I found a photo captured with the 24mm focal length. This wide angle is definitely something I will explore in future photo sessions.
In closing.
Experimentation is an important factor if you’re stuck as a creative. It can be a different lens or a different music instrument. If this is your first time reading a big thank you and leave your name & Substack in the comments - I enjoy looking for interesting new reads.
If you’re a regular thank you for the continued support - I appreciate the interactions and the friendships I’ve made via the Substack photography community.
Thanks for reading : )

…nuts dude these rule…
Interesting project! I really like seeing the comparison between the lenses. My favorite is actually the bonus shot.
