I like slow 😃 I've always been someone that goes left where everybody else goes right, so I slowed down already some time ago.
I used 500PX for a while a few years ago, where I felt that same 'rushing', you posted an image and then for an hour or so it got 'likes' and maybe a brief comment or two because it was in the 'fresh' or 'trending' list and that was that. Didn't take me long to realize that was simply stupid 😉
Now I'm in a much better place. I write an article now and then and appreciate the comments I get, and read insightful articles and leave a comment if I feel I have something to say. No likes, no 'Notes', no rush 😉
Thank you for reading the article : ) I appreciate your comment.
It was the difficult part for me to get to a point where writing now and then and taking photos sometimes felt okay. Once the idea takes hold where you want to post to stay relevant or post to go viral it seeps into everything.
If anyone has done this and they are happy with it, I’m stoked for them. For me it wasn’t worth the effort OR the way I felt when things didn’t pan out as they do in YouTube videos.
Nice! And oh so true! My shutter on my old camera sticks a bit, I have to be very deliberate and press at just the right angle to release and make the photo. I know this and also know I cannot be rushed, as it won’t work. I used to get frustrated with it, but now I like it. I think I frame better and focus more. In other words, it slows me down. I am no longer sure I want to have it fixed 😅
My Kodak compact camera has a ‘slow’ autofocus which means sometimes I need to focus for a few seconds longer. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t — either way I’m happy with the result : )
Really, REALLY exquisite piece, Richard!
Thank you for this reminder of how precious our time and attention is!
thank you very much for the kind words Chris : ) happy that you enjoyed reading it!
